They are below the knee wedge leather boots, but what make these unique is that the leather wraps around the shaft of the boot and fastens on the side. I've seen 2 different women wearing these recently and can't find them anywhere! Any help?

What can I use to soften leather?
I have some leather boots which are quite stiff and would like to know what I can use to soften them without affecting the colour. Suggestions please?!

Similar to hungryjoes answer, squaws used to pee on their leather to soften it. your next question should be how to remove pee odours from your boots.

Reply:While we are on this subject, [I] will pass on a formula that I have used for many years, mainly on English tanned leathers. This was passed on to me by a longtime friend and saddlemaker in England. This is a product you will make up yourself.
You will first need to go to a meat market and obtain a good sized chunk of suet, which can be from either beef or from sheep. Take this home and put it in a roaster and put it in a 300 degree oven and let it render to a liquid. Then, strain it through a fine sieve or a thin towel into a container. Determine the amount you have and then, while it is still hot, add the same amount of inexpensive Cod liver oil.
This may then be poured into smaller containers for storage. As it cools, it will harden to the consistency of pure tallow taper candles, so, when you want to use it, you again will heat it to liquefy it.
After you have cleaned your leather item with a good grade of saddle soap, you will then apply the tallow/fish oil mixture, working it well into the leather. This will give you a nice waxy feel and is basically the same formula that the tanneries in England use in preparing their bridle and harness leathers. To give it a little more of a waxy feel, you may add a little pure carnuba wax to it.
If you use sheep tallow, the mixture will remain in a softer state, when cool, since sheep tallow does not cure out as hard as beef tallow.
In putting it on natural leather, I have not noticed the leather darkening any more so than through the use of pure Neatsfoot oil.

i just got a pair of flat leather boots but they are hurting just above my heel. any suggestions on a temporary solution to the pain until i break them in??

Try getting one of those insteps from Dr. Scholls; a gel thing. You can also try just wearing them around the house for about an hour a day to break them in faster. Good luck and I hope your feet feel better soon.

Reply:sorry this may sound weird but i was a old navy model and there was a pair of black leather boots and they were for the fall fasion line.. anywayz they were 2 sizes smaller and they hurt like hell so there was like a few days before the shoot and my mom brougt them home and she but hot water in on them and but them in the fridge and when i but them on they didnt hurt at all because hot water and really cold air freezes them... and if u want a fresh smell then put some baking soda in them or plan b is to get some of those streatcher thingyz from paylesss and put them in ur shoes and keep them outside...ye i reeli hope that they fit...

1- Yes, as long as the skirt isn't super short, nothing really goes with that, at least in public.
2- A knee length skirt looks classy with knee boots, a tight one will be more sexy, while a lose one will be more conservative, but still cute.
3- Any boots actually. It just depends on if they are tucked into the boots (knee high or thigh high) or over the boots (ankle or mid-calf)?
4- A knee length or a few inches above the knee with knee boots looks cute and flirty.
5- You didn't mention how high the heels are on your boots?

Saddle soap. Scrub the leather well and several times with the soap. Then treat it with a good leather ...(food - for want of a better word), to nourish it and keep it supple. Then several coats of a suitable colour wax shoe polish. Then polish off with a good bristle brush. And finally, one last polish and buffed off with a soft cloth.

Best way to tuck your pants inside boots?
Okay so I just bought some dressy leather boots that when pulled up come just below my knee... I'd like to put my pants inside of them but I'm having issues keeping them from being *too* bulky and staying around my ankle as I pull them up (They don't zip, all pull on) ..... is there a best way to do this? My pants are fairly straight leg, just have a tiny bit of flare.... any suggestions?!

The best solution is to get skinny jeans. but what i used to do before they had skinny jeans. was i took the flare and pulled it as tight as i could, and then folded over the excess part of the jean. i dont know if i explained it well. but i hope i can help. : )

The best solution is to get skinny jeans. but what i used to do before they had skinny jeans. was i took the flare and pulled it as tight as i could, and then folded over the excess part of the jean. i dont know if i explained it well. but i hope i can help. : )

How to Stretch a Pair of Boots?
I bought a lovely pair of knee high leather boots, with a zip running along the inside of the leg. They fit very well in the foot but unfortunately I can not close the zip up my calf. Is there any way of stretching my boots by and inch or two? Or is there a service that could expand the leather? I really dont want to return them and Id LOVE to wear them out.

How can i make my boots fit more snug?
i just bought a new pair of steve madden leather boots (i'm not sure if they are real leather because it says that it is man made material) and they go up to almost my knees. They fit my feet fine but they are kinda wrinkled near my ankles and calves, they are also kinda loose where as i think they should fit snug..i'm asian so i'm kinda petite and i think thats why they dont fit around my legs right. is there anything i can do to get rid of the crease and wrinkles and also is there a way to shrink it to make it fit my legs better? i reallly loved these boots and i want them to fit right. thanks! =)

Should I wear my boots riding on my b/f's motorcycle?
My new b/f wants me to go for a ride on his motorcycle and told me that I should wear my tall dress boots. I think maybe he just likes seeing me in my boots but maybe there is a reason to wear them. He wants me to wear my tallest high heel boots. I have a pair of awesome over the knee leather boots with about 3" heels. Should I wear those?

The leather will help protect your skins from burns, and if the bike does go down, it will help protect you from road rash.

I got some really cute leather boots that are brown a couple of days ago and the very first time I wore them to school they somehow got all scratched up. Is there a way that I cam make the scratches dissapear or atleast become less noticeable? Please help... I really do love these boots!

Why are boots so expensive?
I've been looking at leather boots and other boots from brands like Frye, Fornarina, Miss Sixty and Dolce Vita . They are soooo expensive and I cannot afford to pay like 300-400$$ for a pair. I really love the styles though and that's the only reason I like them I dont care about the brand name. I cant find any other boots that look like these styles that are also inexpensive. What is wrong with my boots?
I bought brand new Timberland brown leather boots a few days ago. I triple coated them in that protective leather spray. Still, every time i walk in the smallest bit of snow this one small patch gets so wet on one part of my boot - like on the inside of my left foot...i am wondering if the leather is different or faulty or something

How do you care for leather boots? I was going to use Lexol cleaner and Lexol conditioner, but I was wondering if Lexol Neatsfoot was necessary. Also, what is the difference between conditioner and neatsfoot?

I was reading a few questiona about fetishes %26amp; I saw one about Fetishes. People have loads of different fetishes from what I can gather such as stockings (LOL) %26amp; other stuff. What are your thoughts on cowboy boots? I've recently gotten myself a pair of Justin cowboy boots the other day for $165 and I gotta tell you that I love owning a pair of leather boots, I've been wanting a pair of leather boots for a long time and I'm glad that my time has finally came to own them, they're more comfortable than I've expected them to be too although I wouldn't recommend wearing them out for the long walks.

What kind of skirt do i wear with some boots that i have?
i have some black leather boots sexy 4 inch heels and they are knee high with black leather bows on the outside. i fell in love with them when i saw them, but i realized i have no idea what kind of skirt or dress to wear with them. they are leg hugging so i can't tuck anything into them. i like skirts also. what do you think goes with knee high boots.

I live in the middle of nowhere where I have to wear practical footwear to keep my toes from freezing off. In March I will be spending some time in civilization, and I want to look good. I want to bring one pair of boots. I have three choices, all with a similar one inch cowboy boot type heel. One is a pair of dark brown suede cowboy boots, one is a pair of light brown ankle covering length biker chick boots, and the other is a pair of expensive looking, two tone almost knee length leather boots. If the I wear the high boots with jeans that bag just a teeny bit at the knee is that okay, or do they have to be pencil thin not to look dorkish, even though super skinny jeans would make me look fat... and please don't tell me to get high heels because I never wear them. Thanks.

Okay, I got these boots from Aldos Shoe store. Thing is that these boots are $80, but my tall leather boots that was bought from Ten Toes were only $50. Should I return these boots?
If I shouldn't return them then what should I wear them with other than jeans, i know jeans go well with these already. Thanks!

Help me find boots like these?
My dad bought me these boots for Christmas a couple years ago. I wore them all the time and they lasted me two years but then they were so beat up I had to throw them out. I want to find a pair similar but I can't. Here is a description of them:

Wear the leather pants instead of the shorts, it's almost winter.
Your choice of boots doesn't sound right. Think more combat style boots, not thigh highs.
The vest is a good choice.
You don't really need the collar. Maybe somebody could teach you the intricacies of the different colored handkerchiefs that the guys put in their pockets at leather bars. You can find out what they like in bed just by the color of them, no need to ask!

HELP! My boots were found in a puddle of water! What do I do?
I decided to clean up my shoe area and found a pair of nice leather boots soaking in a puddle of water! They have probably been in the water for quite some time now!
What should I do? Just let them dry out? Or should I put something on them before I let them dry? Will the leather get all wrinkly now?

I don't know. But whenever you have damp or wet shoes and you don't think they'll be dry by morning; place them lying down in front of the refrigerator below the door. The heat coming out of the exhaust will dry them by morning.
Reply:Since they are already soaked, I'd wash them out the rest of the way, in case there is mold/mildew. Then stuff them with newspaper and pt them in a warm area, but not on a vent. Direct heat will cause the leather to dry out and crack. You will want to treat them with mink oil or something to moisturize them. i use silicone on my boots, but they are riding boots and supposed to be waterproof. Whatever you use will likely darken the leather.
If these are expensive boots, I'd take them to a leather cleaner.

dark skinny jeans, vintage gold jewelry, and some amazing colored scarves. Maybe a cool graphic tee shirt. With those boots I see curly or wavy hair, maybe a structured military style jacket, and some amazingly colored nails!
I am also seeing some ethnic printed dresses in magazines that would look so cool with those boots. Dresses with Ikat prints, from H%26amp;M and Urban Outfitters would be the cheapest, but Anthropologie also has amazing dresses if you have the budget! Go to their online site.
Those boots are so gorgoues, and you can do so much with them. You could also do the Taylor Swift thing and pair them with a white dress or skirt, if you felt so inclined.

Reply:a funky brown or black skirt past the knee not too tight but not an A frame either. a kewl shirt layered with another one under it with a big brown belt about the same color with a big funky buckle attached. and a pair of simple hoops to add as an accessory. maybe a couple simple bracelets as well like beads or a couple charm bracelets. those boots could do alot if u think ;)ooooooooo or a soft sweater like cashmere, and put it with a suede skirt of brown darker than the boots but the sweater a soft color, and a small choker of pearls.

I have leather boots and watch strap but I have worn my boots almost everyday since Christmas and my watch strap has lasted and will last for ages, do you think it's better to sacrifice 1 animal and use it wisely or use synthetic/plastic products that are harmful to the environment and and don't last as long?

it does pose a problem though, because people will often see you order a vegetarian plate on a menu and then pay for it out of your leather wallet.....people are always looking for reasons to call you a hypocrite, and wearing leather is an easy avenue for that.
whenever someone asks me about my leather shoes and purses i can at least tell them it's from before i went veg, and then they understand. i think vegetarians should avoid leather for the obvious reasons (byproduct of the beef industry) as well as the less obvious ones (giving people ammo to call vegetarians hypocritical).
in the end though, do what you want....it's your life.

Buying leather directly contributes to factory farms and slaughterhouses since skin is the most economically important byproduct of the meat-packing industry. Leather is also no friend of the environment since it shares all the environmental destruction of the meat industry, in addition to the toxins used in tanning.

Reply:There is no specific rule to what you should or should not do. you can be a strict vegetarian - eating no meat or fish, only eating free range eggs and non-animal tested products - or just one who cuts out the main things like meat and fish.
It really depends on why you are a vegetarian. If you believe animals should simply not be killed unnecessarily for food, then i guess you could stil believe it is ok for them to be killed for shoes you would get good use out of. i personally do not buy leather anymore and am a strict vegetarian as i have gradually become more aware of the poor treatment of animals (not just how or why they are killed). i used to cut out meat but stil buy the occassional leather product as i found it hard to start with but i have eventually got stricter and im sure you could do the same.
As long as you are not being hypocritical i think you can do what you like since you can justify your actions. Though i will say that if you care animals you should try not to buy leather since the animal is dying for your shoes. Also, i have read that even the UN (who aren't a vegetarian based organisation at all) have said that one of the greatest things a person can do for the environment is to become vegetarian. so dont feel bad about using synthetic products :)
Reply:You can wear whatever you want. There are strict ethical vegans, which don't believe in eating, using, or wearing any animal products at all. There are dietary vegans, which believe in just not eating animal products. There are vegetarians which just don't eat meat but may wear leather, eat eggs and dairy. It's all up to you.

Animals are not killed specifically for leather (at least cows and pigs aren't).
So, where not buying beef will reduce the demand for beef, not buying leather will not reduce the number of cows and pigs killed.

Reply:There is no specific rule to what you should or should not do. you can be a strict vegetarian - eating no meat or fish, only eating free range eggs and non-animal tested products - or just one who cuts out the main things like meat and fish.
It really depends on why you are a vegetarian. If you believe animals should simply not be killed unnecessarily for food, then i guess you could stil believe it is ok for them to be killed for shoes you would get good use out of. i personally do not buy leather anymore and am a strict vegetarian as i have gradually become more aware of the poor treatment of animals (not just how or why they are killed). i used to cut out meat but stil buy the occassional leather product as i found it hard to start with but i have eventually got stricter and im sure you could do the same.
As long as you are not being hypocritical i think you can do what you like since you can justify your actions. Though i will say that if you care animals you should try not to buy leather since the animal is dying for your shoes. Also, i have read that even the UN (who aren't a vegetarian based organisation at all) have said that one of the greatest things a person can do for the environment is to become vegetarian. so dont feel bad about using synthetic products :)
Reply:You can wear whatever you want. There are strict ethical vegans, which don't believe in eating, using, or wearing any animal products at all. There are dietary vegans, which believe in just not eating animal products. There are vegetarians which just don't eat meat but may wear leather, eat eggs and dairy. It's all up to you.
Reply:Leather is a bi-product of the beef industry so you are only using product from an animal that has been killed for other reasons.
Animals are not killed specifically for leather (at least cows and pigs aren't).
So, where not buying beef will reduce the demand for beef, not buying leather will not reduce the number of cows and pigs killed.

I'm a vegetarian and I justify using leather this way. The cow or pig was killed for its meat, the hide is a byproduct, so why let it go to waste? If the world was 100% vegetarian I'd have to switch to synthetic, belts, watch bands and shoes.
BTW: most synthetics are made from oil, or dinosaur flesh.
Reply:I don't understand how someone can be opposed to killing a cow for his/her meat, but okay with wearing the animal's flesh. However, we all make our choices in this world.
Wear the boots and watch strap until they wear out and then replace with animal-friendly alternatives.
Reply:do you think it's fair to sacrifice one animal just to make a boot? I would go with synthetic. It's not as harmful to the environment as raising livestock for meat/leather.
Reply:I agree with you. I have a leather jacket because it is so practical and will last me a long time. I don't eat beef, but I have no problem with wearing leather.

Most refuse meat in their diet but will eat eggs cheese and milk
There is no law to adhere to.
Both are a matter of choice some are extreme when announcing their choice
Reply:I've been veggie for 17 years and haven't purchase leather or suede items that entire time. I just feel if I'm not going to eat it, then I really don't feel right wearing it either.
