Victorian ladies boots, info please?

in the film unforgiven with clint eastwood ,at the beginning you see one of the villains with a girl on the bed , she is wearing black leather boots when where these boots in fashion? and can any one tell me anything abuot these ladies boots and were the other women in the film wearing similer?


what are these sorts of boots like to wear? and do any women wear this sort now?

are these the ankle boots with the eyelets? these have recently come back into fashion for the winter and im gonna get a pair!
Reply:go to ebay and put in Victorian Boots, my mate got hers from there. It's easy to get repro boots.
Reply:the film is set towards the end of the 19th century, about 1880 onwards. when women dressed like women! the boots are very lovely. here is a link to an amazing site with a huge variety of authentic reproductions for sale - rather pricey, i'm afraid.

otherwise, you could check your local charity shops and costume shops for cheaper possibilities.
Reply:They have got some Victorian style lace up boots in New Look that I have just bought for my daughter. Doesn't quite answer your question but thought you could go and try them on?
