How can I stretch a pair of leather tall boots to fit over my calves?

i%26#039;m a runner and it seems that i always have this problem!

How can I stretch a pair of leather tall boots to fit over my calves?
Get bigger boots
Reply:Not that ladies would want to do this, but in the military, we stretch out boots and also break them in by wearing them in the shower, soaking them and then wearing them around a bit. Yeah, not exactly rocket science, but well I%26#039;d much rather see a lady walking around looking funny in her own house than trying to stretch out some spandex, or halter top. *Pukes at the thought*...

I%26#039;d say you could buy something somewhere to do it. If not, make something out of a wooden post. Similar to your calf size, with a taper on it. Or being the genius that I am, get a round piece of wood, have a hole drilled completely down the center of it, and then cut it down the middle as well, making two half circles. Then buy some all-thread, and put a tapered pin on each end. Put two nuts on one end, and tighten them together, making a jam nut. Then put that end in the boot, and on the other end you have a nut that you can screw down to pull the two tapered pins together inside the boot causing the two pieces to expand apart. A lot of work, but well since I haven’t had this problem myself, just think once you have the jig made, you can always reuse it, unless your calves keep growing. That is the only thing that I could brain storm up really quickly. Good luck ladies, I defiantly won%26#039;t shun you for attempting to have sexy calves, especially with long legs. ;o)
Reply:Boots tend to be a one-size-fits-all sort of thing... maybe wider set boots are your best bet!
Reply:Buy boots that fit
Reply:add more leather or pull really hard
Reply:you too? omg is that not so annoying, i am a volleyball player.. and i run to keep in shape so my calves are like 17 inches and i have had to buy special pair for plus size girls, but anyway, put on stalking or panthose whichever you call them, and wear them as much as possible. but the silkiness of the hosery will allow you to slide them onto your calf. and just like any leather the more you wear it the more it strtches to fit!! Good luck sweetie!
Reply:If you find out let me know! I am a runner too and i have the same issue.
Reply:After I bought mine, I just wore them around the house for a couple days until they were nicely stretched out. Looks a little odd if anyone comes over but whatever they look great now!
Reply:Does flexing your foot so your calves stretch help?

If not, you might try stretching the boots out but really, it sounds like you do need to just go shoe shopping again. I sorry.
Reply:Warm water running in the shower, let the steam collect on the boots, and then stretch them. I have the opposite problem, how do i get knee boots to fit my thin calves?
Reply:Shoe repair stores can stretch them for you. Nine West will stretch anything that you buy from them and also repair their products for free.
