How to install leather heals, hob nails, and heal irons on boots.?
Yes, but you need to be able to clinch, or bend the tips of the nails over when they are inside the shoe, otherwise you will have beautiful painful to wear worthless shoes.

When the heels are replaced, you remove the liner, remove the old heel, replace the heel by driving in the new nails( this is done on a special anvil that causes the tips of the nails to clinch or bend over to save your foot from the pain of having the nail sticking you.), grind off the excess heel on a series of grinding wheels, polish and finish out the heel to the appropriate color and then either install a new liner or the old one with contact cement.

The taps and heel plates are easier as they are either in an area that will not touch the nails(toe taps) or they are installed with shorter nails that do not penetrate through (heel plates)
