How do you stud leather?

I want these boots,

http://www.elleuk.com/var/elleuk/storage...

They are Louboutin studded boots. but they are equivalent to my food budget for the next 5 months. So i thought maybe I could attempt at making something similar. I'm an aspiring fashion designer, so I can take a challenge. I'll find some black leather boots, I just dont know how i could stick on studs or rivets.

Thankss

Go to Michael's Arts %26amp; Crafts or even search online, they have a kit with certain tools (about $8 for hole puncher, 5 for rivet setting tool), and you can order studs online as well.

I think it's a great idea to do it yourself! I don't know how easy it will be all the way down at the toe since you may need to have easy access to both sides. I've used some rivets and you pound it with a hammer and should have it laying flat on a hard surface. Hopefully you'll have success with it.

Reply:yer best bet is to get a thick piercing needle and punch small holes where you want the studs to go in. then push the stud in and make sure it stays.

you can buy needles specially designed for this if you can't find anything to work. a dart head does fine.
Reply:find a store that sells just studs.

you can buy a "gun" that puts em in for ya, they're only like 15 bucks.

or, im looking right now, looks like you just need to drill a hole with a drill, and screw em in
