Leather care...?

I have a few questions about leather (boot) care. I have searched the net and found tons of conflicting ways. So I will post here and get many more.

1) How often should leather boots be oiled under light to moderate conditions?

2) How much is too much oil? how do you tell how much to use and how bad is it to use too much?

3) some say neatsfoot and mink oil are bad for leathers while other swear by it? whats up with that?

Leather care...?
neats foot or mink oil is fine for boots have used mink oil for 30 years .do u wear these boots every day.if so and it is moderate use once every couple of weeks is fin for a lite coat .if u wear them for hunting then make sure you treat them before you put them away for the year and any time they start looking dry.if your feet get oilly when you wear the boot then you used to much.just put a good coat on them and rub it in when you wear them out in the rain and you dont see the water beading up on them give them another coat .youll be fine its not going to ruin your boots if you get to much on them .trust your self just do it.
Reply:Neatsfoot oil is fine for boots but not for furniture. Furniture leather must be treated differently
